Zermatt and the surrounding area have more than 400 km of marked hiking trails. The well-developed hiking trails are suitable for hiking enthusiasts of all categories and age levels. 90% of the hiking areas are nature reserves and offer special closeness to nature and unique mountain backdrops. Zermatt offers several alpine routes with 15 mountain huts and over 70 routes for ambitious alpine hikers.
